2019 Cosán na hEagna: Thresholds

Many women find themselves on an important threshold—with their work, their relationships, themselves. What combination of courage and tenderness is required to stand at that space between here and there, to listen deeply and intuitively, while also taking the next, right steps for you?

At this all-women’s retreat hosted on the luxurious and beautiful grounds of Loughcrew, Oldcastle, in County Meath, Ireland, we will take care of you.

Our time together will offer a reflective, nurturing experience—daily movement and meditation; freshly prepared meals by our private chef; deep, inspiring discussion; music, poetry and song; walks upon the land; time for solitude. You may indeed listen “with the ear of the heart,” engage in compassionate exchange, be guided and inspired by Ireland’s Ancient East, its goddesses and landscape.

Which promises will you make to yourself, which thresholds will you cross, after our enchanted time together?

You will know.

Join your guide, Libby Wagner, and special guests Nóirín Ní Riain & Ann McDonald as we explore our path in Ireland together.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Cósan na hEgna . . . I had no idea what this meant nor what to expect out of this all-women’s retreat in the countryside of Ireland. I only knew that I’d long desired to spend time in Ireland, preferably off the beaten path, and the idea of gathering with other women in the Irish Country Women’s retreat center of An Grianán certainly sounded fetching. That Libby Wagner, whom I barely knew at the time but was very intrigued by, was leading this was enough to call me forth.

It turned into an unexpectedly deep dive within the brief time we shared together. Her lovely local assistants, Aileen and Ann, ensured the event ran seamlessly, before and during the weekend. The accommodations, consisting of self-contained bungalows on a beautiful piece of property, were in themselves reason enough to be there. And the meals…a renowned Irish female chef, preparing only gluten-free delicacies, had us salivating for every meal!

There was poetry and Beautiful Questions to take to heart. Ann led us in Ritual to root us in our purpose as well as yoga under a grand old oak tree. As if all that were not enough, Nóirin Ní Riain, herself a National Treasure of Ireland, spent an afternoon speaking with and singing for us, and led us the next afternoon on an unforgettable excursion further afield to an exquisite, centuries old, sacred site.

So much more than I could have anticipated. And next year I hear they’re planning to expand on the weekend. Oh, my heart, be still!"

Ann McDonald, who shares her gifts from the heart, has been practicing yoga since 1997. Her deep love of yoga has taken her around the world, on a journey of self-discovery and a deepening of her awareness and connectedness; aligning body, mind and spirit. Her singing, which she now weaves into her classes, is inspirational and deeply healing. She sings from the heart. Ann will guide us through the gateways of Yoga, Voice and Sound to listen deeply and connect with our true selves, our true nature.

Zoe Worden, Is our private chef for the weekend. Dark Horse Pizzas started off life as a horse box converted into a food truck which owners, Oisin & Zoe drove across the North East of Ireland going to different festivals selling Vegan Pizzas and other plant-based goodies. When the festival season came to an end, they decided to ditch the horse box and set up shop at home in Bellurgan, Dundalk, Co. Louth & thus their restaurant, The Supper Club, was born. They are extremely passionate about growing their own produce, creating new & exciting dishes & love having the opportunity to introduce more & more people to nourishing their bodies and minds.
